Gabriela Garcia is an artist dividing her time between the TV/Film, theater, dance, commercial and education industries with an extensive international career. She dedicated 12 years of her life as dance captain and ensemble for CHICAGO The Musical on Broadway, National Tours and the Vienna and Mexico City companies where she performed the role of Velma Kelly. Other Musical theater credits include: Half Time the musical, Roman Holiday, Carousel, West Side Story, Joseph and the Amazing...Dreamcoat.
As a Dance Associate she staged the production of CHICAGO Düsseldorf, she was movement associate for Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theater and associate choreographer for Public Works’ Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theater. In 2019 she participated as guest dramaturge and choreographer for Calpulli Mexican Dance Company’s production of NAVIDAD, a project she holds close to her heart paying tribute to her Mexican roots. Her love, respect and knowledge of the Fosse® style brought her to Peru where she choreographed a production of Sweet Charity and CHICAGO. She has also choreographed for the Joffrey Ballet School's NYC Jazz and Contemporary summer intensive performances, BC/EFA benefits and R.Evolución Latina's Choreographer Festival. Her dance training began under the RAD syllabus, followed by study at the San Francisco Ballet School and Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she performed with the company in ballets such as Serenade, Swan Lake, Midsummer's Night dream, Nutcracker, Coppelia, Symphony in C and others. As a soloist she danced with Tanzforum der Oper Koeln in Germany (where she originated several roles), Ballet del Instituto Cabañas, and Balletteatro Contemponáneo in Mexico. Her ballet and theater dance classes have reached schools across the world such as Germany, Austria, Mexico, Peru, Sweden, China—to name a few— and in New York at Ellison Ballet, PACE University, Ithaca College, CAP 21, and Joffrey Ballet School where she also acted as co-coordinator for the Joffrey Ensemble.
As an actress some of her TV credits include “Succession,” and “Jessica Jones.” Film credits include In The Heights, Enchanted, and Whatever Lola Wants. She has been the voice for numerous voice-overs for TV and radio for the US national Hispanic market and has recorded over 80 audio-book titles. She holds a BA in Performing Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California and is a proud Co-Founder of R.Evolución Latina, a non-profit organization making a difference through the arts. Gabriela considers herself a citizen of the world. She is a passionate teacher inspiring, mentoring and instilling her values and work ethic to her students and her projects.
